Ooooooooooooooo, I can't tell you how much fun it was to Fly to Vancouver and shoot the famous Capilano Suspension Bridge!!! The bridge is stunning. Having crossed the bridge many times as a knock-kneed teenager (my first "real" job when we lived in Vancouver was as a cafe girl at The Bridge), I felt at home on the swaying cedar planks. At 450 feet across and 230 feet above Capilano River I confidently walked from one end to the other, it was like coming home. Camera in hand I tried many different angles to see how best I could capture the elegant lines of this timeless bridge. The trees were dripping green. The fog hovered below. And I was constantly humbled by the majesty of the park. Because I was shooting the Christmas Lights at the Bridge I had a very particular time in which I had to shoot. Dusk. and. Dawn. We are talking very early! Luckily for me I have had years of preparation for this thanks to my two...energetic kids. Time went too quickly for me this last week in Vancouver. I loved every rain drop of my trip! Thanks for having me Capilano!!! I feel so honored to have been your photographer.
Oh ya!!! I almost forgot. In order to get a few of these shoots here I climbed into a lift of some sort or another... So at 6:00am before I really have my feet under me I am lifted 50 feet up! To paint a true picture of what I thought of the experience you would have to think of me clinging to my camera, white knuckled with a huge grin I can't wipe off my face! Really. What a great week in Vancouver:)
